High-fidelity component car speakers bring life to your sound system.

JBL GTO 609C component speaker handles 270 watts peak power (75 watts RMS). This much power makes for an ideal match to systems powered with head-unit or factory-amplifier power levels. Even better, the speaker matches many of the GTO Series amplifier combinations. As a result, it can keep up with systems that feature one or more subwoofers and satisfy high-fidelity audiophile listeners. And its great power-handling specifications also increase reliability over the lifetime of the speaker.

I plan on running the 609 on an active crossover, can you recommend rms, hz, db and anything else?

Asked by: Rflo
The GTO609C is a complete system by itself having a dedicated crossover to produce the best quality sound the GTO 609C as intended to. The provided passive crossover plays a large part in the sonic quality. However, if you choose to go with an active crossover, a great starting point is 2500Hz. You should not go below 2000Hz or above 4000Hz. Just find the point that sounds best to you. As for wattage, the woofer can handle the full 200 watts of power, while the tweeter should not go above 75 watts.

Hi, does it fit for Toyota Estima 2006? If yes, does it need to connect to an amplifier? Thank you.

Where is the best place to mount the tweeter? Any limitations such as tweeter should be placed within "xx" inches max from the woofer?

I've got a Blaupunkt 945 Capetown , and would like a pair of JBL.  GTO 609c , would I need an amp, if so which amp would I go for .

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi. For all "normal" listening, your head unit should do fine, based on the stated output of 50 W per channel. If you want to play close to the limit of loud the 609 can go, you should get a separate amplifier, which will usually improve audio quality as well. The JBL GX-A604 can deliver up to 170 W per channel into two channels in bridged mode, and would do nicely. The smaller 602 is not much more powerful than your head unit on paper, but should give you more authority and better quality, although it will not play much louder than the head unit, at least not based on the power specs alone at 60 W per channel into 4 Ohms.

Hi I'm interested in a pair of jbl gto 609c 16.5 front speakers plus a jbl series 2 1224ss 12" sub in box in rear ...was thinking of either gto 3ez or 5ez amp to run ...can u tell me which would be best or do I need something else ??????

Asked by: Phil s
Hi Thank you for the question. This sounds like a real nice speaker-system which you have in mind. The GTO amps are not in our product range any longer, so I would recommend you a Club 704 or a GX-A604. if you have other questions please contact our help-dask.

Hey there. I am building a system with active crossovers. So i will mot be using the passive crossovers that come with the speakers. What is the impedance of the woofer and tweeter when not connected to the passive crossover??

Asked by: Kris danev
Hi Kris. We do not have access to info about the impedance of individual drive units in combinations. But actually this specification is interesting only if you use a passive crossover, where it influences the crossover frequency. With active crossover network, you will use separate power amplifiers for each drive unit, and the impedance will not affect the reproduction at all, except of course if the load is too low for the amplifier to handle. While we cannot answer your precise question, we hope this helps.

I have GTO 609c for front and GTO 629 for back, what amp should i get ? Is GX-A604 possible to power up only the 609c in bridge (is says 4-ohm bridge but the 609c have 2.3 ohms), and a GX-A602 for the 629 ? or a GTR 704/104 for all 4 ? Thank you !

Asked by: Lucian
Hi Thank you for the question if you use an amplifier so it expects a speaker impedance which is higher then the actual speaker impedance as you have explained in you example can damage the amplifier when you play, so I would not advice that you use this setup. if you have further questions please contact our help-desk.
