JBL Charge 3 Special Edition is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 430.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would recommend this speaker Good volume for such a compact unit. Easy to pair via Bluetooth and has the input jack for anything else. Did not buy for the charger function and have not tried it. Only bad point is the start up and shut down jingle it plays. It's too loud with no way to suppress or disable it. I have JBL products in my recording studio and live pa set ups and have always found them good. Mi

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The loudest hand speaker I have ever bought This is definitely worth the money, it's the loudest hand speaker I have ever bought. The only think that worried me was that JBL didn't email me when it would get here or and dispatching information. However, it only took 4 days to get here and when it did I was so pleased. Great product. Long life.

I am connecting two speakers a Flip3 & Charge 3 to my Iphone. One of the speakers constantly looses connection even when placed next to each other. It happens to both speakers, at times. No issue only using one at a time, please advise.

Asked by: Mike8791
I am so sorry if you are having issues connecting your speakers using JBL Connect technology. With the JBL CONNECT feature which your FLIP 3 and CHARGE 3 have, you are able to wirelessly connect up to 2 JBL CONNECT speakers together. However, what you are experiencing is not normal. Let us try to do these following troubleshooting steps: 1. If you have a wifi system in the house, try to turn it off and check the connection. Wifi can interfere in the connection of the 2 speakers. 2. Please try to use other source device just to isolate the issue. 3. We can also try resetting the speakers. For FLIP 3, in power ON mode press and hold the "Volume +" and "Phone" buttons at the same time for more than 3 seconds. The unit will power Off by itself. Now, the unit is reset to factory default. For CHARGE 3, power ON the device, then press and hold the "Volume+" and the "Play/Pause" buttons at the same time. When the device switches off after a few seconds, sounding the OFF prompt, it has been reset. After resetting the device, reconnect the speakers and as well as the source device. If none of these things work, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to assist you.

I just found out about the low frequency mode on my charge 3. I went to turn it on and it was actually already on. So it has been on since it came out of the box. Can this mode hurt the speaker?

Asked by: supimfilipino
Yes, this will damage the speaker in the long run especially if you are going to play music that has more bass. This is why we are not advertising it and putting it on its description. This is only used for testing purposes only.

how would you compare this speaker (charge 3) and the pulse 2? In other words which one is better?

Asked by: isso234
When it comes to product features and highlights of each speakers, CHARGE 3 can be submerged to water for 30 minutes at 1 meter and you can charge your devices like your smartphones from it. However, PULSE 2 features a Multi-LED light show giving you new ways to enjoy your favorite tunes – and then some. PULSE 2's customized light show visualizes your favorite tracks or sets the atmosphere using its ambient lighting. If you love more bass sound, CHARGE 3 is better since it can handles more low frequencies (65 Hz - 20k Hz) compared to PULSE 2 which can only handles 85 Hz – 20 kHz. This is because CHARGE 3 has bigger transducer (50mm) versus PULSE 2 which only has 45mm. Overall, if you are the type of the person which likes more bass sound, then go for the CHARGE 3. But if you prefer visual lights on while playing music, then go for PULSE 2.

I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue with your CHARGE 3. What you are experiencing is not normal. Please try to use a different wall outlet to charge the unit. If this doesn't help, try to reset the CHARGE 3 by pressing and holding the "Volume+" and "Play/Pause" buttons at the same time while it's on. I noticed that you're in Canada. If you are still experiencing the issue, please submit a case at info@eriksonconsumer.com and our Customer Service team will be glad to assist you.

Yes. You may use a standard 3.5mm AUX cable and plug it to your iPod and the other end to the AUX-in port of the CHARGE 3.

Where can i find step by step instructions how to pair this device with ipad? I do find the manuals but thought it could be much more compact instructions somewhere how to do it. Iphone ok by randomly pressing all buttons, but i strugle with ipad.

Asked by: My tee
Make sure that the CHARGE 3 is in pairing mode and the Bluetooth on your iPad turned ON. 1. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the speaker until it makes its pairing sound. 2. Turn ON the Bluetooth of your iPad. 3. Your iPad should be able to see the speaker on its Bluetooth pairing list and connect to it. 4. Once connected, try to play music to make sure that the unit is properly connected.

Can I use JBL Charge 3 speakers while they are charging?

Asked by: Roky
Yes, it is completely safe to leave your CHARGE 3 connected to the power whether it is in use or not. It won’t damage the battery, but take note that using your CHARGE 3 while plugged in will prolong the charging time.
