Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complete sound I was so disappointed when I first heard the sound from this speaker, it was loud and full of bass like everyone says but to my audiophile ears the sound was muffled. I was close to returning it when I learn that this speaker can be updated through the app... I just did the update and now I love this speaker, there's a deep bass but better treble which was completely lacking before the update. So to those who don't know, you can make it sound way better. The JBL shopping experience has completed the perfect speaker.

I recently updated my JBL Xtreme, but now it does not sound as loud as it was before. And the speaker is also less punchy like it was. Is there anyway to get the previous firmware back? Thank you!

Asked by: rodrigocesar123
Unfortunately, you can no longer downgrade the current firmware version that's currently assigned on your XTREME.

Hi! I just bought the Xtreme but I'm having problems with the connection via bluetooth. The sound stutters even when I am next to the speaker. If I move 3 meters away, the connection is lost. How far can the connection reach? Is this normal?

Asked by: DJ_Miles
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Reception of Bluetooth can be heavily influenced by surrounding environment. We have some suggestions to possibly address the issue you're having with the XTREME 1. Please note that if you have a large number of Apps open in your smartphone or tablet, this may block or overtax its processor. Dropouts may result. Try to close all or most active apps. This should solve the problem. 2. Bluetooth signals from smartphones and tablets are not very strong. Make sure that the signal does not have to pass through doors, walls etc. Always maintain a clear line of sight between transmitter and receiver. 3. Reset the XTREME by following this step: With the Xtreme ON, press and hold the VOL+ and Pause/Play buttons for 5-6 seconds. The Xtreme shuts down, and is now reset. Under normal circumstances, you can expect a range of 10 meters with no problems. If none of these things work, please submit a case request at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html for information regarding your warranty options.

Can I charge my charge 3 with a 12 volt system like a car charger

Asked by: Fletch1
The XTREME uses 19 Volt power supply. So you would not be able to charge it with a 12 volt car system. However, if this is something you need to do, you can purchase a 120 volt car audio converter. They are fairly inexpensive as you would not need a very powerful one. The unit only require 3 Amps when charging, so a 120 volt/3 amp or higher charger would work great.

My Xtreme sounds awesome. Works great via BT from my Galaxy S7 but will not connect to my Dell via BT despite every effort to download the driver so sadly I think I'll be returning it. Any great ideas out there for a fix? Thnx.

Asked by: Griff
It is possible that your Dell Computer simply does not have the necessary/updated drivers to stream audio via Bluetooth. The JBL Xtreme does not require any specific drivers. It utilizes the standard Bluetooth Stereo Audio drivers available in most computer. Your best bet is to go into your control panel and find the Bluetooth setup. This setup usually provides a setup wizard and will take you through the steps to install the drivers needed for Stereo Audio.

There is no way to check the percentage of the battery life on the XTREME except for the LED light indicator.

I am wondering if you can plug an MP3 player into the JBL aux in port?

Asked by: Melshusker
As long as you MP3 player has an audio out which you can connect to the XTREME’s 3.5mm Aux In port, this should work.
