Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alarm clock with a professional Speaker I was challenged to find a good quality Bluetooth speaker that had all the alarm clock features I required. This device has them all from duel alarms to weekday setting options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features & Sound. Sketchy Instruction What I love: I can - Wake up to music of my choosing at any sound level by streaming it over bluetooth from my iPhone. - Have some added light help me awake gently and slowly. - Listen to FM radio. NPR sounds more relaxing and sonorous on this than on an expensive stereo. - Take a timed nap. - See the day of week as well as the date, very orienting. - Recharge my iPhone daily by just plugging it in when I go to bed. I love the rubber feet and the whole rubber feel thing going on. Alarm clocks tend to jump off night stands. This one will stay there much more steadfastly. I found the setup to be relatively intuitive, though it does absolutely require some time to communicate to the clock how you want it to behave. The alarm clock I bought in 1989 for about $20 still works great and sounds great for a clock radio at that price point. I've purchased two alarm clocks since then that do not measure up. The display on the $49 cube did not dim, for example. The Horizon is a keeper. And that's high praise. This said, it's not without its faults. I agree with other reviewers that the instructions have a very sketchy feel to them. Many older customers will find it impossible to read the Quick Start manual. And interpreting the instructions feels like playing a kind of puzzle game. I only just got through them. Downloading the instructions does not help on either score. Very bad. Also, the buttons would be much better if they were larger and had more tactile feedback to help in identifying them early in the morning. That said, the imperative of manipulating the right the clock radio button when one is mostly asleep in the morning should be virtually eliminated thanks to the soft, gentle series of noises that is now the waking stimulus instead of obnoxious loud beeping of a traditional alarm clock. Finally, the fact that it has no radio controlled time is a little weird. Here in AZ, that's actually going to make my life a little easier - assuming the clock does keep time well - since I won't have to keep telling it that we don't observe daylight saving time. As to its durability, I'm delighted to hear that it's a matter taken seriously by JBL. There is a weighty quality to this clock suggestive of a solid build. Ask me again in 2047.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy To Read I stayed in the Hyatt Hotel in New York City a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed when I saw the radio on the night stand and could see the time and date from from my sitting room, plus the sound was outstanding when we were relaxing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JBL Horizon My Favorite! I bought this in 2016 October worth the money! I don't understand why the JBL Charge 3 is quite expensive compared to this JBL Horizon because JBL Horizon has got more features like USB ports to charge the phone Radio, Alarm Clock, Light Snooze, Actually this one should be more compared to the JBL Charge 3 it's quite funny. Anyway I recommend the JBL Horizon. it's much better.

Hi In the morning with the alarm set to wake you up on the radio setting, the volume gets way to loud too quickly! I checked my software version and it is version 22. Is there a way to update this software?  Many thanks

Asked by: Greg willow
Same problem, alarm sound is way to high on the radio mode. Why not to use last used sound level of the radio unstead of maximum ?? I can't use this product as an alarm because of this. I am very disapointed. I have version 26.

My Horizon appears to have developed a fault with the volume. When I turn on the radio the volume starts low, then after about 30 seconds it crackles and the volume increases suddenly to the level when it was last turned off. Can I do anything to fix it?

Is there a way to make the display brighter at night, even if temporarily by touching a button?  The auto adjusted display makes the unit virtually unreadable in the dark. I have software update 026.

Asked by: Gfranks
Unfortunately, the lights cannot be adjusted. The JBL Horizon's digital LED display has a sensor which automatically adjusts light intensity based on the room's brightness level. If the unit is shadowed by something or if something is blocking the sensor, the LED display won't get any brighter. I want to connect to my PC via Bluetooth, but I require a password to connect. What is the password? Where do i find it?

Asked by: Govind
Try entering "0000," "1111" or "1234" when your device asks for a PIN. These are some of the most common default Bluetooth PINs. Just an FYI, to make the HORIZON work with your PC. You'll just need to find a Bluetooth driver that supports A2DP Audio codec. Your best bet is to go into your control panel and find the Bluetooth setup. If you don't see the Bluetooth section on Devices, chances are that there are issues with Bluetooth driver. Make sure to go to Device Manager to verify the driver is present and installed correctly. If everything looks alright, but you don't see the option, you may want to download and reinstall the latest Bluetooth driver from your computer's manufacturer support website or contact OEM directly for further support.

Can it be possible to upgrade via usb to remove the gradual volume function? We prefer to set a volume the night before, which will be kept for the duration of the alarm in the morning.

Asked by: markitaly
This has been addressed with production software version 025. To check the software version of the HORIZON, press and hold the Bluetooth and the Volume PLUS buttons at the same time. If your HORIZON does not have version 025, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and our Customer Service Team will be glad to assist you.

I Purchased the JBL horizon when the phone is connected via bluetooth and i recieve a phone call why isnt my phone ringing through the speakers? When i am connected other noises will go to the speaker, but not when it rings. HELP!!!

Asked by: SUNSHINENES
What you are experiencing is normal. The HORIZON is a clock radio which can only stream music via Bluetooth enabled phone or tablet, it does not have a phone feature. If this is something you're looking for, please check out the link below for our portable Bluetooth speakers, excluding the SOUNDFLY BT, that have speakerphone capabilities. http://www.jbl.com/bluetooth-speakers/

Hi, I wake up every morning with radio alarm, but I cannot set it at a certain volume. The radio starts at a low volume and a few seconds after gets louder and louder. I can´t stand it and I have to turn it off. It´s not a gently wake up at all.

Asked by: Matias
I CONFIRM..... the volume graduality is so fast... in 15 seconds are in max volume.... please update this product without "graduality volume changer"
