JBL Horizon is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing features I bought this a few weeks ago as I actually saw in a hotel in Thailand the best clock I've ever had. Dims when the lights go out, Bluetooth, light on the back and USB ports, what more could you ask for in a clock ? Bought in black

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a good product I read the reviews before purchasing and was a little worried about the number of critical reviews about the dim light of the clock. Ironically this is one of it's best features ie the brightness adjusts to light in the room. If you want an alarm clock that is bright and obtrusive then don't buy this, if you want subtle peaceful light then this is great. Other features like Bluetooth and quality of sound is great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from About Time!!!! The evolution of alarm clocks has been going backwards offering no style or convenience until now. This is a very modern and sleek looking device that automatically dim and brightens the display depending on lighting conditions. In fact, it has it's on light that can be turned on manually or the option of lighting up when the alarm goes off.(Fantastic feature!) Blue Tooth, two USB ports that charge your phone, rounds out these great options. The sound is by no means concert hall quality, but for a device this size it sounds good enough. For all those complaints about button placement is unfounded. Within a couple of days all was second nature. Set up was a snap without using the instructions. It fulfilled our needs so well, a second one was purchased. Thanks JBL!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised Before I bought this I read some of the reviews, both positive and negative. I called JBL up to get some feedback on some of the negative ones. After talking I felt confident that I would not be buying a "lemon". I am a long-time JBL consumer dating back to 1982. I currently have a 7.2 surround system made up of Control One's and 2 Sub 100P subwoofers and a Loft 20 center channel speaker that I've put together over the last few months to replace the JBL 6.1 system. (it still worked) I have another pair of floor tower speakers that I bought 15 years ago. I say all this to note that the Horizon is in the same class as the rest. It was easy to setup. The display dims to the right level. The sound is excellent. I was able to pair it up with my smartphone and listen to Pandora via Bluetooth. I set the alarm up to go of with the default sounds and also with Bluetooth. JBL has yet to, and probably never will disappoint me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Alarm Ever! We had this radio/alarm in our room at the Waldorf Astoria in Orlando, FL when we were on vacation. Loved it so much we went online and ordered it immediately, and it arrived the day after we got home. Such a gentle way to wake up, best alarm ever!

Can't seem to access the speaker with my iPad or iPhone...worked before with no problems, does it need an update?

Asked by: Dashed and confused
What you are experiencing with the HORIZON is not normal. Please make sure that the HORIZON isn't already connected to another device. Also, if your iPad and/or iPhone recently did a big update, you may have to forget the HORIZON and then pair it again. If none of these things help, press Volume+ and FM for 2 seconds and the HORIZON should reset to factory default settings. I noticed you are in Canada. If the issue still persists, please e-mail info@eriksonconsumer.com and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

Hello, is it possible to use aux as an alarm, or aux only to play music (because in alarm settings there isn't a setting for aux)

Asked by: LodeSmets
You cannot use the AUX input for the alarm. You can’t even select it as an option. The reason the unit cannot select AUX for the alarm is because the source would have to be playing at all times in order to be playing when the alarm went off.

Hello, I would like to ask you if there is a way (maybe a software update) to make the lower level 1 of the Horizon even lower. I like to listen fm radio while sleeping but the volume 1 is very loud. Thanks a lot

Asked by: ngitop
This has been addressed and corrected with production software version 025. To check the software version of the HORIZON, press and hold the Bluetooth and the Volume PLUS buttons at the same time. I noticed that you are in Greece. If the software displays a different version, please contact the store where you purchased it for a software update.

i just bought JBL Horizon, paired it with my smartphone (Asus and Lenovo) and played my music from my devices. It worked perfectly fine. Then i tried to paired it with my laptop, it was written "paired" in my laptop but in JBL, it didn't work. Help me?

Asked by: AbeChris
The HORIZON utilizes the standard Bluetooth Stereo Audio drivers available in most laptops. There are two different Bluetooth protocols, one for Headset Audio used for talking on the telephone, and the other for high quality stereo audio listening. Being that the HORIZON is a speaker; your computer must connect to the HORIZON using the Stereo Audio protocol. Your best bet is to go into your control panel and find the Bluetooth setup. This setup usually provides a setup wizard and will take you through the steps to install the drivers needed for Stereo Audio.

When the Bluetooth alarm turns on in the morning, it then turns off pretty quickly. How do I set the alarm to just stay on so I can continue to listen to music and then switch it off myself. Thanks!

Asked by: Kath7777
The HORIZON’s alarm sounds for 3 minutes, then it shuts off, or rather it goes into snooze, for 9 minutes. Then it sounds the alarm again for 3 minutes, followed by snooze for another 9 minutes. After this final snooze period, it starts playing, and keeps on playing until it is manually shut off. If the following procedure is not working on your speaker, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you. Note: Pressing any button other than OFF or SNOOZE will cause the unit to stay on and not go into SNOOZE mode. So, for example, the alarm goes off and plays for a minute. The person presses the volume button. The HORIZON now knows to stay on. It stops climbing in volume and continues playing until he turns it off.

There a way how to keep the time bright not dim?

Asked by: JblFan402
Unfortunately, the lights cannot be adjusted to a specific brightness. The unit has sensors that auto adjust the brightness according to the light level of the room.

How will I know when the backup battery is low or completely dead? Second question how long does the backup battery will last?

Asked by: JblFan402
Though the backup battery on this unit may last many years but there is no indication whether it is good or bad, you may periodically leave the unit unplugged for a few minutes and if the time remains unchanged then it indicates the battery is still good.

how do i change the display from a 24 hour format to 12 hour?

Asked by: JACC
On the bottom of the unit is the Set Time button. When you press this button, it takes you into the Set Time Mode. The first thing that blinks is the 12 or 24 hour mode. Simply pressing the left or right rear “set” buttons, will change it.
