Will this amplifier suitable (with optimum performance) for 2x subwoofer JBL GT5 12 single coil (@275W)??

Asked by: Bachtiar
Hi, Yes, this would work, the amplifier will give 300 Watt in 2ohm that means that 1 speaker will get 150 Watt RMS and the limit is 275 Watt, so this is safe under the limit. If you require further information, feel free to contact us by phone or email

Is this compatible with JBL S3-1024?

Asked by: Ian456
Yes, it is definitely compatible. Reason being, GX-A3001 is running up to 300 Watts RMS per channel at 2 Ohms while the S3-1024 can handle up to 450 Watts RMS at 2 or 4 Ohms.

will this amplifier suitable for old 2x JBL GT5 12 svc ??

Asked by: Sastra
Hi. Yes, the GT5 12" sub is a 4 Ohm woofer, and you can connect two of them in parallel, to get a 2 Ohm load. The GX-A3001 amplifier is specified to give slightly more than 400 Watts into 2 Ohms, so that should work fine. One important thing to remember is to allow sufficient cooling for the amplifier. It should never be covered by blankets, floor mats, luggage etc, if you want to play loud.

Would this amp be okay for a s2-1024 subwoofer, i know nothing about audio NOT looking for high performance competition stuff just something basic, also do cables come with this or are they seperate? Tom

Asked by: Tom s
Hi Tom, Yes, you'll be able to drive the S2-1024 subwoofer from the GX-A3001 amplifier. There are no cables included, so you will have to get these yourself. Some extra information, the S2-1024 subwoofer is only the speaker, and comes without a case/box, so you'll either have to build/buy this yourself as well, or maybe have a look at the S2-1224SS subwoofer, which comes built in an enclosure ( http://uk.jbl.com/car-subwoofers/S2-1224SS_.html?dwvar_S2-1224SS___color=Black#start=1 ) or otherwise one of our powered subwoofers in the BassPro series. If you'd choose a BassPro subwoofer, you won't need the GX-A3001 amplifier, since these have built-in amplification If you require further information, or need more help with any of the products, please send us an email on customer.support@harman.com, we'll gladly help you in finding the correct subwoofer/amplifier for you.

Is this a good amp for the GT5-1202BR? Will I be sacrificing any power by not buying a more powerful amp? I don't know anything about this audio stuff, but as long as this thing provides the power to rattle heads and tickle your chest that's all I need.

Asked by: Jorrell
The GX-A3001 can drive power up to 300W at 2-ohms. While the GT5-1202BR can handle power of up to 275W at 2-ohms. This amplifier has more than enough power to drive this speaker. It will work beautifully just as long as you don't crank up the volume to maximum.

My sub only works on low bass, everything I turn it up the sub stops working and the green light turn's off for the red light to come on on the amp. Any reasons why it is doing this or a way to fix the problem?

Asked by: Conz
Hi. It is not so easy to troubleshoot your problem. Some possible reasons may be that power cord or ground cord are not connected properly, or there is a defect in the subwoofer drive unit itself, or the amplifier is defective. You may also have connected a subwoofer that has very low impedance, making the amp switch off to protect itself. It is best to seek help from someone who can do measurements of the system in the car.

Hi, I have a single 2-Ohm JBL MS-10SD2 shallow Sub- so should I connect the red+ to terminal 1 & the black- to terminal 2 or to terminal 4 on the A3001 Amp? Also, is it OK to bolt it upside down in the boot onto the rear shelf / deck next to the Sub?

Asked by: Pulsarlaser
Hi, A single 2 ohm's subwoofer is connected to just a single channel ( not bridged ). If you have a 2nd 2ohm subwoofer, you will need to connect them serial on the 2 channels. ( You can find this information in the owners' manual you can find on our product page ). As for where to place the amplifier, this can be done upside down, or on it's side without any issues If you require further assistance, you can always reach us by email customer.support@harman.com or of course by phone
