Strong on performance, big on flexibility.

Series II woofers delivers the enhanced efficiency and higher output.JBL uses progressive spiders to provide the best possible control at the excursion limits versus much more commonly used linear spiders. The benefit is a far more controlled woofer stroke with far tighter bass characteristics. With high-roll surrounds, proprietary cone design and long-excursion, Series II woofers deliver deep, powerful bass, with greater accuracy than conventional woofer. And the exclusive SSI™ (Smart Selectable Impedance) switch lets you choose 2- or 4-ohm impedance for maximum configuration flexibility. It’s everything you want in a woofer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My S2-1224 failed out of the box. I was gifted a new JBL S2-1225 for my Birthday and was sad to hear no more that a crackle from the speaker. No great bass to hear. Tested my amp of an older 12" sub woofer without any issue so the problem resides with the speaker. This is far from the great bass experience I had hoped for. I am open to JBL restoring my faith in the product. When I attempted to return the speaker for a replacement the seller denied the return shipment stating that the item cannot be returned since it requires special transportation and handling which we (Amazon) can't provide. Again, disappointing that a simple speaker in it's original box cannot be returned.
