This boom is made for all shapes and sizes

JBL latest Club subwoofers offer incredible installation flexibility. Their low-profile design allows them to fit perfectly into even the most shallow of enclosures — great for today’s compact cars. Polypropylene woofer cones deliver exceptional bass response at frequencies as low as 27Hz. But what makes these subs really stand out is their Harman-proprietary SSITM (Selectable Smart Impedance), which allows the subwoofer to present the amplifier with either a 2 or 4 ohm load at the flip of a switch.

I'm looking to build a system running two of these speakers. I'm not sure what amp would work best with these speakers. I'd like loud full bass but I don't want to damage my speakers.

Asked by: Colton985
The CLUB WS1200 can handle power up to 250 W with a selectable impedance of 2/4 ohms. You may use any amplifier that can drive power up to 200-250W at 2/4 ohms. I would recommend the GX-A3001. It can drive 200 W of power at 4-ohms.

I don't know a ton about car speakers and such, so cut me a little slack here.  Does this sub go in the rear deck of the car or in the trunk?? If this goes in the trunk, where can find a sub that goes in the rear deck? Thanks!

Asked by: MelCart
It depends on the model of your car. The WS1200 can be put in the trunk with a proper enclosure. As for the sub that goes in the rear deck, you may check out any car subwoofer on our website, put in the model of your car and it will tell you if it will fit your car.

does this fit a 2011 Chevy Malibu? and is it louder then the stock speakers?

Asked by: agiovannielli
Considering the slim design profile of the JBL CLUB WS1200, it ought to fit in your car with professional modification. As far as being louder, this is a subwoofer, when accommodated with adequate power/amplification, it ought to produce a deeper bass than almost all stock speakers.

Im getting a custom box specifically for a 2000 chevy silverado extended cab. It is sealed and downfiring. Would this be ok?

Asked by: Slumarican
As long as the box is .75 cubic foot size, it will work great.

Whats the minimum airspace required for maximum performance

Asked by: Slumarican
If you are building a sealed enclosure for your CLUB WS1200 you would need at least 3” of space in front of the subwoofer for it to perform well. If you are going to build a ported enclosure, you would need space equivalent to the diameter of the port.

What is the minimum space required behind the sub woofers mounting depth? Internal dimension of the box. Would 90 mm total depth be sufficient?

Asked by: Shail
I have purchased this sub and custom made a sealed box as per JBL recommended volume. Mounting depth however was less than advised. This subwoofer is AMAZING simply put. Far exceeding my expectations. I am extremely happy with my purchase and have/would recommend this subwoofer to anyone. It is being powered by an 200rms amplifier at 4ohms. If you are considering this subwoofer for abit more bass get it you will not be dissapointed be prepared for alot of bass though. *Very happy customer*

I looked through the specs and could not find the exact mounting depth. Also what would the recommended enclosure dimensions be? Thanks!

Asked by: 404NotFound
The mounting depth and recommended enclosure specs came with the accompanying owners manual and tech sheet for the WS1200, which can also be downloaded above.
