This boom is made for all shapes and sizes

JBL latest Club subwoofers offer incredible installation flexibility. Their low-profile design allows them to fit perfectly into even the most shallow of enclosures — great for today’s compact cars. Polypropylene woofer cones deliver exceptional bass response at frequencies as low as 27Hz. But what makes these subs really stand out is their Harman-proprietary SSITM (Selectable Smart Impedance), which allows the subwoofer to present the amplifier with either a 2 or 4 ohm load at the flip of a switch.

Here are the answers to your questions. 1. X-Maxx (MM) = 7.65 (either Impedence). 2. Sealed Enclosure = 0.75 cubic feet. 3. Ported Enclosure = 1.75 cubic feet with a 4” (102mm) diameter port that’ll be 10” (254mm) long, tuned to 33Hz. 4. Does the 0.75 cubic feet requirement on sealed enclosures take into account the amount of volume displaced (consumed) by the sub? If not, how much should one add to the 0.75 cubic feet value to accommodate the sub?

Asked by: Silky Smoove
Yes. The 0.75 cubic feet requirement for sealed enclosures includes driver displacement.

I'm looking to build a system running two of these speakers. I'm not sure what amp would work best with these speakers. I'd like loud full bass but I don't want to damage my speakers.

Asked by: Colton985
The CLUB WS1200 can handle power up to 250 W with a selectable impedance of 2/4 ohms. You may use any amplifier that can drive power up to 200-250W at 2/4 ohms. I would recommend the GX-A3001. It can drive 200 W of power at 4-ohms.

I don't know a ton about car speakers and such, so cut me a little slack here.  Does this sub go in the rear deck of the car or in the trunk?? If this goes in the trunk, where can find a sub that goes in the rear deck? Thanks!

Asked by: MelCart
It depends on the model of your car. The WS1200 can be put in the trunk with a proper enclosure. As for the sub that goes in the rear deck, you may check out any car subwoofer on our website, put in the model of your car and it will tell you if it will fit your car.

does this fit a 2011 Chevy Malibu? and is it louder then the stock speakers?

Asked by: agiovannielli
Considering the slim design profile of the JBL CLUB WS1200, it ought to fit in your car with professional modification. As far as being louder, this is a subwoofer, when accommodated with adequate power/amplification, it ought to produce a deeper bass than almost all stock speakers.

Im getting a custom box specifically for a 2000 chevy silverado extended cab. It is sealed and downfiring. Would this be ok?

Asked by: Slumarican
As long as the box is .75 cubic foot size, it will work great.

Whats the minimum airspace required for maximum performance

Asked by: Slumarican
If you are building a sealed enclosure for your CLUB WS1200 you would need at least 3” of space in front of the subwoofer for it to perform well. If you are going to build a ported enclosure, you would need space equivalent to the diameter of the port.
