Hi! Is CINEMA 510 compatible with ONKYO TX-NR656 7.2 channel AV receiver?

Asked by: rodbuf
The CINEMA 510 speaker can handle up to 60 watts. So, as long as you receiver puts out 60W per channel or less, these speakers will work fine.

Thank you very much for explaining my last question @kay harman. I accidentally pressed report button and i am sorry for that. In spec sheet frequency response of cinema 510 is 150Hz-20Khz than how it will produce 100Hz

Asked by: Katyayan
Hi again :) The satellites work together with the subwoofer. In the hardware there are filters installed ( for the crossover ), which decide where the different frequency outputs should be sent to. These filters are very broad, and setting a crossover to 100Hz, does not mean the satellites take the full 100Hz load. This is mainly handled by the subwoofer channel, and the midrange drivers in the satellites will take a piece of it. A crossover set to 100Hz, with satellites that are 150Hz - 20Khz, just means the midtone drivers in the satellites have to work harder than actually is recommended. If you don't hear the drivers "tremble" from the bass load, and the sound is good at 100Hz crossover ( so it's a comfortable sound ), then you can easily leave the crossover at that level. If you want more powerful base tones at lower volumes, you should set the crossover higher. Please send us an email on customer.support@harman.com if you require more assistance :)

Which receiver you recommend for Cinema 510?

Asked by: Myo Kyaw Thet
The CINEMA 510 speaker can handle up to 60 watts @ 4ohms. You can get any Amp or AVR that can support a 4 ohm load and puts out 60W per channel or less, and these speakers will work fine.

In one of the questions below you suggested to set crossover frequency 100Hz. According to spec sheet satellites frequency response is 150Hz-20KHz. Whether satellites will be able to produce frequencies from 100Hz-150Hz?

Asked by: Katyayan
Hi, The crossover at 100Hz is pretty good to start with. The satellites will be able to produce these frequencies. Of course, if you want to play louder, and take some of the hard work away from the satellites, you can set the crossover to 150Hz, so lower frequencies are handled by the subwoofer. The filters in the Cinema 510 are able to handle most of the crossover settings between 100Hz and 200Hz. The best suggestion is to listen yourself, and play with the crossover frequencies between these values, and pick the best level for your comfort.

The Sony home theater system BDV – E 2100  which JBL surround sound speaker system can I hook to this receiver

Asked by: 440Gordy
The BDV-E2100 already has its own speaker system. Our speakers are not compatible with the receiver since the speaker ports are Sony exclusive. What I can suggest as an alternative setup is to use a different receiver using the HDMI/optical out connection from the BDV E2100 then connect a separate surround sound system, similar to the CINEMA 510 to the receiver.

can we connect jbl cinema 510 to laptop or phone without any receiver

Asked by: kanna0530
Hi. Sorry no, the Cinema 510 system has no built-in amplifiers, and must be connected to a surround receiver or amplifier to work.

What is the best crossover frequencies for jbl 510 front left/right, center, surround left/right and sub woofer which I can set on Harmon Kardon AVR?

Asked by: Mak56
Since the CINEMA 510 uses small speakers so it is best to set the frequency response on the satellites and the center speaker at a higher number so that the small drivers on them are not forced to play very low frequencies. 100Hz for the satellites and the subwoofer would be a great start.

I recently brought cinema 510 speaker with HK AVR151. But I have a problem with speaker wire length. I'm planning to buy new wires for my rear speakers which is like 30ft frm the receiver. So wht AWG should I go for? and default wire gauge wth this pack?

Asked by: Parvez
The CINEMA 510 comes with 18 gauge wire. Thick wire gauges (14 or 16 gauge) are recommended for long wire, high power and or low-impedance speaker applications.
