Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I received this a month ago, and it's changed the way I work out. It was a pain to switch out the ear buds, but it makes sense that it would because otherwise they'd be falling out or loose. Besides the initial setup, it's been fantastic!

These VS. Reflect Contour? LOVE my Reflect Contours but they're falling apart & I need to replace. Are features on the UA Sport (heart rate, coaching etc) worth the extra $50? Disappointed the UAS only has 5 hrs battery vs. RC's 8 hrs. Help me decide!!

Asked by: HannahMontana
It all depends in personal preference and what features you are looking for. The UNDER ARMOUR SPORTS WIRELESS HEART RATE headphone can be used for UA MapMyRun - GPS Mobile App or UA Record Mobile App. This is downloadable from the App Store and Google Play which is why you only receive up to 5 hours of battery life. For more information on the UNDER ARMOUR SPORT WIRELESS HEART RATE, please visit our website at JBL.com.

why is the battery only lasted 2 hours ? and also how do you turn off the heart rate as it is maybe taking the batteries?

Asked by: felixslm
Hi. The specification says up to 5 hours of battery life. Please note that listening volume and energy content of music will affect battery time. The heart rate system can be disengaged by touching and holding your finger on the right-hand ear pad, until the confirmation voice tells you that is has been switched off. Repeat to switch it on again. The LED measuring light will extinguish when the system is off, and power will be saved. If you still consider battery life to be too short, go to the place of purchase to claim warranty coverage. If you bought them on the JBL web shop, please contact Harman Helpdesk. Contact details for mail, chatter and phone are found on the JBL web site under support.

i'm just wanting to khnow about, Output impedance & sensitivity parameters that there are not in specs for this product, these are important parameters. thanks

Asked by: pedram
Because this is a wireless, active headphone, they present no load to any source device. A sensitivity specification is irrelevant since they are fully active with a built in amplifier and speakers. Unfortunately, there is no specification that would present us with how much energy received from an external source is converted into audio energy, like what is used for our wired models.

Do you have to have the UA Band in order to get the heart rate reading? Also, will the heart rate work without any apps open?

Asked by: Jnwomack
No. The UA BAND is only an accessory to sync the UA HEART RATE WIRELESS to it. In order to access the UA headset’s Heart Rate feature, you need to install an app called UA RECORD.

Does it measure heart rate variability?

Asked by: My HRV
No. Our headphones do not measure the specific changes in time between the successive heart beats or (HRV). It only can detect the average beats per minute.

My HR becomes disconnected once I switch back to the "Track your Workout" screen on MapMyRun app. This happens every so often. Some runs the HR works perfectly, other times it never connects or keeps disconnecting. Any suggestions?

Asked by: HRrunner
Thanks for your patience and I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.. Each time you navigate away from the HR page in the app the headphones will say "heart rate disconnected," but as soon as you start recording a workout, the HR Headphones should say "searching for heart rate." Within a few seconds they should say "Heart Rate detected," at which point the stat "Current Heart Rate" will appear within the app on your workout screen, and your HR will be tracked for the entirety of your workout. If this cannot be prevented please submit a case at www.jbl.com/contact-support.html and our Customer Service team will be glad to further assist you.
