FAQ

There is no sound from my docked iPad/iPhone.
As long as you have connected your computer to the OnBeat Xtreme with a USB cable, sound is muted. Please disconnect the USB cable.
When docked, my iPad seems to take a long time to charge.
This is a consequence of technical design to avoid overloading the charging circuits.
I have a Sony Xperia X10i Android phone. When connecting to my OnBeat Xtreme with Bluetooth, it connects as HFP, not A2DP. It works fine at second attempt.
This is related specifically to the X10i Android phone. No solution is available at the moment. Please perform the connection twice.
I have a Samsung or HTC mobile phone, and the ring tone from the OnBeat Extreme is not the same as the one selected on the phone.
This is a result of Bluetooth limitations in these phones. Please check for software updates for your phone regularly.
The Menu/Scroll Up/Scroll Down/Enter button on the remote control does not work in Bluetooth mode.
This is common for Bluetooth devices. Usually, Bluetooth does not support this option.
With my OnBeat Xtreme in Standby with an iOS device in the dock, it suddenly switches on by itself.
Please stop and exit any application on your iOS device before your Xtreme is put on Standby.
Voice actuation via Bluetooth? How do I use the voice actuation of my phone through my OnBeat Xtreme, when connected via Bluetooth?
Press and hold the BLUETOOTH/PHONE Button on the OnBeat Xtreme for some seconds. This activates voice recognition on the phone, accompanied by a voice prompt.
When I change the OnBeat Xtreme EQ settings with the remote control, I cannot see the change on the JBL OnBeat app.
Change the EQ setting manually on the iOS application, or exit and re-enter the app.
I interrupted the upgrade process by mistake, and now I cannot get my OnBeat Xtreme to function.
If you interrupted the signal by disconnecting the update cable, re-connect the cable, and the unit finishes the update procedure and reverts to normal operation. If you interrupted power to the unit during update, please contact our customer helpdesk.
USB upgrade in NTFS? When preparing a software upgrade, I cannot get the process to work when using my USB stick, which is in NTFS format.
The upgrade process works with a FAT32 USB stick only. NTFS-format USB sticks cannot be used.
My unit loses connection when playing certain apps.
This is not related to the OnBeat Xtreme. Please check for updates of apps or fluctuations in your local network.
When docked, my iPad reacts to some of the remote control commands, but other commands do not work.
iPad has limited functionality with remote controls.
How can I avoid my docking station/MP3 speaker going into standby after 10 minutes when I use the analog input?
Because of EuP-regulations, the unit must enter Standby after 10 minutes to save power, when no sound is detected. Your HK or JBL component has a fixed threshold for this level. If you turn down the volume on your MP3 player or smartphone too low, the speaker will see this as silence. Next time you want to play music, simply turn up the volume on your MP3 player or smartphone as high as it goes, without distortion setting in. Now control the volume on your HK or JBL speaker instead of on the MP3 player or smartphone.
What wireless range can I expect from my Bluetooth speaker?
Reception of Bluetooth can be heavily influenced by surrounding environment. If your product offers stable streaming performance when phone and speaker are in the same room, with no large objects blocking the line of sight, then your product is performing as specified.
