What are the recommended wall mounts for the Arena 120?

Asked by: Rich_Bower
There are no fixed/required distance for mounting the speakers on walls. It would really depend on your listening preferences. For perfectly natural sonic response from the speaker, it should be at least 12” from the wall. As you move the speaker closer to the wall the perceived bass will increase. You can move it as close as you’d like to the wall, to get the desired bass from the speaker, as long as you don’t place the speaker any closer to the wall than the diameter of the port.

Do these provide a good bass response with out a sub-woofer?

Asked by: Keithb
The ARENA 120 will still provide a good bass response but it will not be maximized unless you pair it with a subwoofer. It only has a frequency response of 100 Hz - 40 kHz so if you prefer a deeper bass response, you ought to add a subwoofer, preferably from the same series.

For speaker wire, what type of connector do I need, and what gage? Thanks, Jeff

Asked by: trigdenton
Our speakers do not require specific connectors, you can simply plug in bare wire. If you are considering connectors, spade lugs or banana plugs are good options. For audio wire gauge, somewhere between 12-16 will work fine

Whats the wattage?

Would it be a good fit for my amplifier (Fatman Carbon Trinity)  Max o/p:25Wx2 Freq resp:20Hz-20KHz(±1.5dB) Dist: ≤0.5% Sig to noise ratio: ≥86dB Input sensitivity: 200mV Input impedance: 10KΩ Output impedance: 4Ω /8Ω

Asked by: Hbriones
Since the Fatman Carbot Trinity can drive up to 25W per channel and the ARENA 120 can handle up to 100W, this would work well with each other.

i have a 2000 watt amp i need loud speakers that will handle the power. What speakers do you recommend?

Asked by: patrick317
JBL Consumer loud speakers are designed for home use and cannot handle this much power. You might want to check speakers available at jblpro.com for something that can handle what your amplifier can drive.

How do these mount to the wall?

Asked by: Jsprague56
The ARENA 120 comes in a relatively small box, and in the packaging you´ll find a user manual, a mounting template for drilling holes, eight adhesive rubber cushions which may be placed on the bottom or back of the cabinet to protect both the speaker and the surface it´s placed. Each speaker has two keyholes on the back and will require two 1-1 /2" (38mm), #10 wood screws fastened to a wall stud. If a wall stud is unavailable, install an anchor appropriate for a 1-1/2", #10 screw. Here's how to mount the ARENA 120. 1. Using the included wall template, mark the positions on the wall where you would like to place the mounting screws. 2. Fasten two 1-1/2" (38mm), #10 wood screws to the wall using the markings from Step 1 as your guide. Leave an 1/16" (1.59mm) space between the wall and screw head. If a wall stud is not available, use an appropriate anchor. 3. To protect wall, attach 4 rubber cushions (included) in suggested locations. 4. Place the speaker on the wall by aligning the keyholes on the back of the speaker to the screw heads on the wall. Once positioned properly, the speaker should slide down slightly and become secure. NOTE: You are responsible for the correct selection and use of mounting hardware (available through hardware stores) that will ensure the proper and safe wall-mounting of the speakers.
