I have Arena 180 as my front speaker..will Studio 225c match as center speaker?

Asked by: Imrul
The ideal setup is going with matching speakers (timbre matching) across board. When this is not possible, you can choose different speaker but try to stick to models from the same brand and similar tweeter design. If you do not want to go with a ARENA 125C as a center speaker, the STUDIO 225C would be the next best thing.

Will the 225c match up with my old JBL L7 loudspeakers? If not, which JBL center speakers would you recommend?

Asked by: Steve L
Yes, you can pair the STUDIO 225C with your L7 speaker. When matching front speakers with center channel speakers, we consider several factors such as the tweeter material (e.g. Titanium, CMMD, etc.), series, and brand, respectively. Although the 225C uses CMMD for the tweeter while the 520C has pure Titanium Dome, the woofers on both center speakers are made of the same material (polyplas). If you can find a used L series center channel such as the LC1 or LC2, that would be better but if not, the Studio series would be a great match.

Will the 225C pair well with your 500 L & R speakers?  I am specifically looking to enhance dialogue, NOT special effects or loud music. thank you

Asked by: JoBro
These two speakers are part of the same series, voice matched so that they will work perfectly well together in a surround sound system. The 225C is a great choice for the 500 speakers.

Is this a good replacement for 520C? I trying to match my 590 floor speakers, any suggestion?

Is the 225C a good center with my pair of 4311 studio monitors (which still sound great)?

Asked by: charlie19
It is possible to make all three speaker to play simultaneously, using a surround sound receiver that has both an amplifier and pre-out. But you will experience audible difference because they are speakers are designed differently.

I found 225c center in my country very cheap. It so cheap that I thought it is replica. So is there any way to understand genuine jbl product? Whats the key points??

Asked by: Clockwise
Thanks for reaching us regarding this matter. In order for you to know if it’s genuine or not, you may check these parts, Speaker’s grille, Speaker’s manual, Speaker’s rubber cushion feet and the sticker at the back of the speaker and that will contain all essential information about JBL, especially the Serial Number. More importantly, do not forget to test and see if it’s not a blown speaker.

Hi there, I have avr265 and studio190 floor stands. I wanna upgrade my center speaker (now using hkts 16's center). Do you think 225c is suitable match with studio 190s and avr265?

Asked by: Clockwise
Absolutely. Along with the current STUDIO 190 speakers that you have, the STUDIO series speakers have the same sonic tonal quality, giving you a seamless transition when sound travels from one speaker to another. The AVR 265 can drive up to 95 W at 8-ohms. While the STUDIO 225C can handle power up to 125 W at 8-ohms.

would the 225c be a good match (soundwise) with a pair of jbl es30 front speakers, especially for classic rock type cds

Asked by: maddog9
It would be ideal to get a model from the same line as your ES30 front speakers. But since this is an older model, the STUDIO 225C would work beautifully with your ES30's.
