Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best got Better Upgraded from the SB300 to the SB450 last week. Unbelievably better in all regards. The soundbar itself it extremely crisp and detailed. The subwoofer is more smooth and twice as powerful. Bravo JBL, you've done it again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JBL SB 450 Bought this last week; great performance but lacks the on-screen display. The settings including bass & Herman volume can only be controlled through the remote control and there's no visual way to check your settings. I'll strongly recommend JBL to provide an on-screen display through a system update. Thanks.

Can this soundbar connect to the Echo Dot?

Asked by: gweav
The Echo Dot can be connected to the Soundbar two ways, Bluetooth or Auxiliary. Instructions on how to do so are here – Bluetooth - https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=202011820 Auxiliary/Wired - https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=202011840 You will notice on these instructions that it will ask you to place the Soundbar in pairing mode. To do this, simply press the Bluetooth button on the speaker while it is turned on. Please understand though that the Soundbar, similar with all our of portables have a power-saving feature that automatically turns the unit off when no audio is detected for 10-minutes. Please follow the instructions listed on these URLs. If you are still having issues, please submit a case at jbl.com/contactus and our Customer Service Team will be glad to assist you.

Has anyone had difficulty pairing the soundbar and subwoofer? Subwoofer is has power and is "paired" but sub does not Fire. Followed the instructions in the manual and performed factory reset, but no luck. . Anyone have any suggestions?

Asked by: S123
Please try to perform one these steps: -Move the sub closer to the SOUNDBAR for testing and see if the signal picks up. -Turn off any wireless routers or devices that run on 2.4ghz signals, such baby monitors, cordless phones, etc. and test to see if the subwoofer connects. -Test with a movie or music with a lot of action scenes or bass. If it's just dialogue, you may not hear the subwoofer. If none of these things work, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

Is my ARC port broken? When i plug my Fire Tv and Cable box into my Samsung One Connect and use the ARC to the soundbars ARC, i get no sound. Those same devices into the soundbar, sound works.

Asked by: JRC27
This can be caused by the formatting that your source device is using and the TV can accept and output. If your source device (Bluray, gaming console, DVD..) is set to output Dolby Digital/DTS, and your TV can only output two-channel digital signal (PCM) when connected via HDMI-ARC, this requires the TV to process the signal before it sends it to the SB450. Try to use an optical cable from the TV to the SB450, if you are using HDMI or to set your source device to send PCM signals only to the TV. This should fix your issue.

I know that it comes with a printed mounting template, but what about the mounting tools itself? Do I need to buy anything else rather than the sb450 to mount it on my shelf?

Asked by: Henrique Monteiro
The mounting template doesn’t come with screws because it depends on the preference of the customer on where they will want to mount it (wood or cement). You might consider using a power drill when fastening the mounting template.

Hi, Purchased the SB450 it has has great sound. i tried to connect to flip 3 with no success.I can see and hear that the devices identify each other and connect to each other but have no sound on the flip 3 . Any idea what went wrong?

Asked by: Dan123
The JBL Connect will only re-stream music if you are using Bluetooth. Any other source (Optical, HDMI, Aux) will not be compatible. Please try to pair your SB 450 or FLIP 3 to your source via Bluetooth then try using the JBL Connect. If you are still experiencing issues, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and our Customer Service team will be glad to assist you.

I have the SB450 for about 30 days now. While the virtual surround is great, I was wondering if adding 2 JBL flip 3 via JBL Connect feature will make it close to 5.1 surround. Will it work that way?

Asked by: SunnySmileShine
You would only be allowed to connect a single JBL Flip 3 using the JBL Connect feature. Therefore, Sb 450 cannot be setup as a 5.1 system.

Yesterday 19/3/17 I purchased the SB450 from HarveyNorman. Installed it at home. Everything has been great until now. The subwoofer made a loud bang and is now crackling and popping occasionaly. Has been turned off now.

Asked by: Timmo81
What you have experienced is not normal, and there is a high chance that it is now a blow speaker. Please submit a case at www.jbl.com/contact-support.html and our customer service team will be glad to assist you.
