BassPro SL is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just The Job I replaced the factory sub in my UK spec 2013 Honda CRV EX with this and am so glad i did. Huge upgrade over the so called ''premium'' audio system fitted by the manufacturer. Fits neatly under the front passenger seat, very easy to fit, and lots of adjustment to give you the sound you require. Gives you more than just bass, seems to lift the whole system sound quality. I've also replaced the factory door speakers with JBL GT6 series speakers and now the whole system sounds great. Plenty of punch and lots of detail as well. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Install BassPro SL in Toyota Alphard I just bought a new Toyota Alphard. It is already installed by 17 JBL speakers. But, there is no subwoofer. I am interested in installing BassPro SL in my car but I don't think it can be fit under the driver or front passenger seat as the seats are all electric. Do you have a solution? Thank you very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound Hi. I bought the Baspro SL few days ago, I just mount it last Saturday. My car is a sedan, the SL is mounted under the passenger seat. First, I had the impression the base is not loud and clear, I was almost disappointed. But... Then... Surprise! It sounds just great. Is all you need if you don't want to destroy your ears or to play music for the people outside the car. So, I strongly recommend this product, is just awesome and all you need for a loud and clear base in your car. Of course, now I have to change my speakers also, because the Basspro SL is to strong and the original speakers can't handle it :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Clean Bass in compact package I installed this under the passenger seat of My minivan about a month ago and I am impressed. The installation required me to raise it so that it fit above the underseat vents, but it still fit just fine. This little sub is EXACTLY what I was looking for, small hidden and permanent with excellent sound ( i do not like removing subs when I need space for cargo) I have heard better subs, but they are 20 times the size of this and cost more than twice as much. This Sub was not designed to wake up the neighborhood, but you cant beat the BassPro SL for moderate bass enhancement and clarity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The subwoofer for the "adult" listener! Here is the situation in most from the factory car audio systems. They are pretty nice factory installs. The four or maybe six speakers are asked to give you nice clean highs and warm bass. However, to the critical listener, the mid highs and highs are not as sparkling and bright nor are the bass frequencies (kick drum and bass guitar) as tight and punchy as they should or could be. So, when you add the subwoofer ( JBL Bass Pro Sl ), you are doing two things. First, the low frequencies are contained and then released in the sub. Nice, tight,non-floppy low end. Second, you have now (with the built in crossover) directing the mid high and high frequencies to the very capable factory speakers. The head unit in the stock unit does not have to work as hard and the low stuff is handled by the powered sub. Everybody is happy. The sound is adult. Definition of adult. This sub is NOT designed to shake your windows, rattle your walls, etc. Mine is installed neatly under the front passenger seat of my VW Golf TDI Sportwagen. Bass is omni-directional to a large extent so the nice low profile design works perfectly. It is an 8" sub...not two large 12" paired boxes. This is not for your Chevy Crew Cab or Jeep Wrangler. This subwoofer compliments and completes your sound, not over powering it. Rock N Roll, Americana, Country, Classical, Jazz....YES, if you are in Death Metal, Hip Hop, Go,Go...nope. I work as a live sound engineer. JBL is a pro level speaker company that you will see on many national touring acts and sound companies. My .02, or in this case, my .04! enjoy.

I have a Jeep and I just installed this woofer on my system. The blue powerlight on this thing stays on even if everything is off. Is that normal?

Asked by: Jeff Powell
Disregard my answer about the blue light... mine did turn off. Just took a couple min. :-/

Hi, I'm planning in installing a JBL GTR-104 and running a cable from the pre-out to the sub. I want to know if the BassPro SL will be able to filter-out the higher frequencies as I suppose the amp will transmit the whole frequency spectrum.

Asked by: lexmarkpol
Yes, you can connect the outputs from the GTR-104 directly to the BASSPRO SL. Then use the crossover in the BASSPRO SL to filter out the higher frequencies.

Can this be mounted vertical against a wall or only flat on the floor?

Asked by: Northmnsledder
The BASSPRO SL can be installed vertically, but we recommend otherwise. You can get the best experience from the BASSPRO SL when installed vertically, with around 3-4 inches distance from a panel. This is why, ideally, under a seat would work best. Doing this can give you better low frequency response.

Can it change my original under seat subs for my e92 bmw 335 2007 ?

Asked by: Mart
Sorry, we have no information about built-in systems in cars, and can only suggest our one possible alternative, the Basspro SL, which you can check out on the JBL web page, to find out if it fits under there.
