Pure and clear
I bought this 2 days ago.. the price is not to bad and so far i'm very impressed with the build quality.. not to forget this earphones produce superb clearity and purity in bass.. overall i'm happy with it.. and it's affordable. Highly recommended !

Great sound in the worst package
I was excited about this pair but the left earbud quit working after two weeks, at the beginning I heard an annoying plastic noise moving every time i tried to adjust the earbud in my ear canal, and it ended exploding and all i could hear is the noise of that piece of plastic moving inside the left ear piece trying to reproduce music yes its own music, stay away from this as they are a quality fiasco and complete waste of time and money.
P.S: the retailer told me i have only 48 hours warranty....

Bought this week ago, I regret my purchase. After a week, one earphone stopped working completely. Sounds are normal, not good ,not bad. Very unconfortable, takes like 15 mins to position them in my ear at the point where the sound is good. Bought similar jbl earphones 1year ago for 50eu and it had same problems. Never trusting jbl again

Great sound!!!
I bought the JBL Tune 290 a couple of weeks ago and I intended for it to be used as a backup to another JBL Ear wire that I own. I took it out of the package and used it to listen to a business meeting through my computer. It sounded as if I was in the room with my co-workers who were in various states. I was so excited, that after the meeting, I got online and ordered another - as a "back-up". Thanks for the quality.

The earphones are good, for the price I highly recommend! But I take the opportunity to say that I had purchased the E15s, and the earphones are awful when it comes to keeping them in the ear without falling, they didn't "stick" in the ear, quite disappointed. But with the T290 this does not happen because their "rubbers" are much better, and their ergonomics are far superior, not to mention the spectacular design. A note to appreciate! And the type of material used in the e15 is worse, in my opinion. Not in T290, however.

Very good when working, RMA not worth it.
Bought two on a good sale for kid's Christmas. The audio was much better than any in this price range. Came with a good assortment of ear pads and the feel/quality seems 4-star
However brand new the microphone on one didn't work. When I contacted support the hassle of getting them to respond, determine as defective, return (they paid shipping) and wait for the replacement just flat-out sucked - I spent more time on this that paid for the headphones!
Also I am not sure how robust either will be in the long term - been 2mo and still working!

A nice inexpensive headphone set
Bought this set about six months ago to substitute the garbage headphones that came with my cell phone. Bass sounds are fat and big, although I'd like less peaky highs. All in all, it sounds perfectly nice for the price and allows you to have a full immersion with good isolation from external noise. I'd recommend this set for everyone who's in a budget and cares enough about the listener experience. This set is also very durable - so far, it has endured several different scenarios and I see no signs of wear,

I got a great deal too on a product that is very good in sound. The shipping is not that great. The package remained in a USPS location which is less than 30 miles to destination from early AM on 11/20 but was delivered to me only on 11/24.

The volume doesn't get deafening like I prefer. However, the quality of sound that they produce is amazing! Music has never sounded so amazing! Earbuds are soft and feel good in my ears as well.

Nice balanced sound
These earbuds were inexpensive and seemed to be durable so I decided to buy them. I own more earbuds than I need (30-40) so i think i can compare them in a fair manner. One of my favorite groups to listen to is Voctave an a capella group. These buds allow me to hear all the vocal parts in a clear and balanced manner. There is not any boomy bass here, just a nice balanced sound. The buds are comfortable and seem well made. For the price they sound great.

Another poor (one more) example of headphones, with high-pitched treble (strident) ... And a lack of bass, unlike the indicated "Pure Bass" in its box, it would be more correct to place: complete absence of bass.

I had this item last week. First of all, I would love to say that delivery, shipping, or services were quiet satisfied. The second thing to say is earphone. the sound has thin shriller. Normaly I am user of JBL Flip and its sound is very impressive, but JBLT290 has not as good as other JBL's products. if you compare with price and product, it is good value, but If this item will be stop working, I would not buy again.

Good sound, flimsy design for JBL
The sound from these headphones is quite good. However, the flat ribbon wire is unnecessary and cheap-feeling. A solid round cable would be greatly preferred. The flat wire just twists and coils and catches on everything, and breaks easily. I've had two pair: one broke at the plug and the other at the microphone. I don't know why they went with the flat wires, but it was a poor choice.

Which ones are better? T-290s or T-280As? I like bass, and listen to metal, rap and hardbass, which ones would you recommend for me? I don't really care which ones are louder as I listen to my headphones at ~50%vol most of the time
The T-290 would best in terms of your music preferences.but if you want more detailed sound but lower bass, the T-280A is not bad as well.

iPhone 7 only has a Lightning connector and doesn’t have a 3.5 mm jack. For JBL TUNE 290 to work with your iPhone 7, you need to have a Lightning-to-3.5 mm headphone jack adapter.

My first question is: Is there an overall db rating? And also can jbls 8.7mm drivers keep up with lower quality brands that have 10mm or even 12mm driver? im sure i wouldnt be dissapointed ive come to love jbl because of my jbl xtreme i purchased
The T290 overall can produce an average of 85-110 decibels. The quality of the driver unit is what makes a to the sound. The bigger the size of the driver unit doesn't necessarily mean better. Our T290 have high quality 8.7mm drivers in comparison to other competitive brands that may have larger 10 or 12 mm drivers, but not necessarily higher in quality.

i understand that your sport ear buds would be ideal for physical activity, but I want sound quality as good as the T290's. Is the sound quality of the T290 similar to the Inspire 300? 500?
The T290 has a driver of 8.7mm, the Inspire 300 has a driver of 14.2 mm while the inspire 500 has a driver has a driver of 15.4 mm. The bigger the size of the driver unit does not necessarily mean better, it is still subjective to the user's evaluation.

These are cabled headphones, and will respond to the power from the driving amplifier.
