Multipoint connection is a technology that allows you to connect your earbuds via Bluetooth to more than one device at the same time and to seamlessly switch from one device to the other. Multipoint connection is useful for example when you are listening to music or watching a video on your tablet and a call comes in on your phone. Your earbuds connection switches from the tablet to your phone allowing you to take the call. 

Most of the JBL wireless earbuds have Speed charge. And can be recharged quickly in the charging case. With a few minutes of charging, you can get extra hours of battery life (the duration of the charging and the playtime gained varies from earbuds to earbuds). The earbuds won’t be fully charged, but they will still let you enjoy some hours of battery life. Speed charge can be very useful when in a hurry as it allows you to boost your headphone battery with a lightning-fast quick charge, so you’ll never miss a beat.  

All headphones offer a certain amount of isolation from noise. This is not the result of technology, but of the headphones’ design. The ear tips in the in-ear earbuds seal the ears at different levels, excluding some of the ambient noise. We call this “Passive Noise Cancelling”, as there is no technology involved. 

When the earbuds feature a technology to actively block external noises, we can talk about earbuds with “Active Noise Cancelling”. The JBL wireless earbuds feature three types of Active Noise Cancelling technology. Depending on your needs, you can choose the one that suits you best. 

We need to distinguish between earbuds with “Voice Assistant supported” and “Voice Assistant built-in”. 

Voice Assistant supported 

If Voice Assistant is supported, you can quickly access your device's native (Siri, Bixby…) voice assistant directly from your headphones by tapping your earbud.

The Voice Assistant technology is embedded in the earbuds. You can choose between Hey Google and Amazon Alexa in the JBL Headphones App and get help, just using your voice. Whether you would like to text, access your favorite playlists, get directions, or find the latest weather forecast for ultimate convenience, either voice assistant will be able to guide you. 

Some JBL TWS earbuds allow you to access your preferred voice assistant by simply speaking or tapping on the earbuds. With Hey Google*, you can also use voice commands to power off, check battery life, or activate ANC, TalkThru, and Ambient Aware. 

*Google supports Android only. 

JBL is the only brand offering the choice of different wireless earbuds form factors. Because each ear is different, the JBL customers can choose the design that is more comfortable and suits best their requirements and ear type. Wireless earbuds feature three different form factors: Buds (bud-type), Beam (in-ear stick) and Flex (stick open). 

Wireless earbuds with Buds design seal snugly and securely your ear canal, providing deeper bass performance and extra-strong isolation from ambient noise. 

Wireless earbuds with Flex design sit firmly in your ear without blocking it, so you stay aware of your surroundings while remaining free from distracting noises like your own breathing or walking. 

Wireless earbuds with Beam design ensure comfort without pressure, eliminating ambient distractions with a design so light, you may forget you're wearing them. 

 All JBL wireless earbuds allow you to take and receive phone calls hands-free. This means that by tapping one of the earbuds you can accept/reject/end a phone call without using your phone. Similarly, you can talk to the caller through your earbuds, without removing them and having to hold your phone. The quality of your voice depends on the number of microphones in your earbuds. 

TWS stands for True Wireless Stereo. “TWS”, “True Wireless” or “Truly wireless” earbuds typically refers to those headphones that can be wirelessly connected to a streaming device via Bluetooth® technology, are cordless and small in size.

JBL wireless earbuds are virtually compatible with any platform. They can be connected via Bluetooth to both iOS and Android devices.  

Most of the JBL wireless earbuds support Microsoft swift pair. A window on Microsoft PC supporting this function will pop-up, asking to connect the earbuds with the computer. 

If your TV features Bluetooth, switch Bluetooth on and select the right headphones model to connect your JBL wireless earbuds to your TV. 

The JBL wireless earbuds feature three types of Active Noise Cancelling technology. Depending on your needs, you can choose the one that suits you best. True Adaptive Noise Cancelling is our best-in-class noise cancelling technology. 

Active Noise Cancelling or ANC. The ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) technology in your earbuds allows you to hear more of what you want (your music, your podcast, your sound) and less of what you don’t (external surround noise). External and/or internal microphones listen to environmental noises. An inverse phase signal sent back to the listener creates the noise cancelling effect, so you can immerse yourself in music, keeping out unwanted distractions. 

Adaptive Noise Cancelling. Leading noise-cancelling technology in your earbuds eliminates distractions while Smart Ambient (Ambient Aware and TalkThru) allows you to adjust the level of noise cancellation to stay aware of your surroundings or to have quick chats for safe, seamless audio enjoyment. 

True Adaptive Noise Cancelling. Enjoy best-in-class noise-cancelling automatically adjusted in real time to account for variations in ambient noise, and personal characteristics like hair, head movements, glasses, etc. This technology provides top notch Noise Cancelling and sound performance. Customize the noise cancelling level (choosing among the 7 available levels) through the JBL Headphones App according to your preference. 

JBL offers different types of wireless earbuds. If you are an active person and would like to use your wireless earbuds when working out, we recommend choosing earbuds from the Reflect or the Endurance lines. Most earbuds of the JBL Wabe/Vibe, Tune, Live or Tour Series have dust and water protection factors, and can be used during light activities, but we always recommend reading the earbuds specifications before using them. 

Battery life refers to the hours of playtime you can enjoy when using your earbuds through a Bluetooth connection. In true wireless earbuds, the battery life indicates the total hours of playtime combining the playtime hours in the earbuds and the playtime hours in the case. If the case is still charged, it acts like a charger, topping up your earbuds battery while they are in the case. Once flat, the charging case battery can be recharged through the USB cable or wirelessly (if the earbuds support wireless charge).
