Product Q&A

I am looking for quality surround sounds speakers to put in my ceilings in the theater room as well as my living room and outside patio. The patio and living room will be on one receiver, while the theater room will have a dedicated receiver.

Asked by: dwaynen
For indoor/outdoor speakers, check out our JBL Control X. Aside from delivering deep, powerful bass and crisp, detailed sound regardless of location, its rugged design can also handle the elements making it the perfect indoor/outdoor stereo speakers for any setup. Check out this link for more information about our JBL Control X: https://bit.ly/335wP2U. For the theater room, we recommend our JBL SP8CII speakers. Its design allows it to deliver true JBL quality sound, yet without taking up valuable floor and shelf space. Movies sound more immersive and your favorite music comes alive. Check out this link for more information on our JBL SP8CII: https://bit.ly/2OxV6JI.

I'd like to have 2 in-ceiling speakers in my kitchen and another 2 in my living room, controlled by a Google Nest Hub (as 2 separate zones) to play music. Which JBL speakers do you recommend for this and what type of receiver to you recommend as well?

Will these ceiling speakers match (timbre) with my existing JBL SP8ii rear channels?

We recommend using our JBL SP8ii with our other JBL SoundPoint speakers for the sound to match. Check this guide regarding what speakers match best for your JBL SP8ii: https://bit.ly/36gEakP

I was thinking of using the Arena 8IC speakers in our indoor pool room - it is climate controlled but does get a bit humid at times. Will these hold up to some humidity?

Asked by: jakebb
Our JBL Arena 8IC may not hold up with this kind of set-up since it is not a weatherproof speaker.

I can't find a maximum SPL for this speaker on the specs. Looking at installing in a Dolby Atmos theatre

Asked by: kister
We do not measure the max SPL for our speakers. The only information we have is for the sensitivity rating. The ARENA 8IC has a sensitivity rating of 88dB 2.83V @ 1m.

is this a stereo speaker? and are these weather resistant? I have single rough-in in kitchen and bathroom

Asked by: Vivs
These are not stereo speakers. The only in-ceiling stereo speaker is the STUDIO 2 6ICDT. You can check it out at the link below. It is not available yet, but is coming soon. None of our in-ceiling speakers are weather resistant, but they can certainly be used in a kitchen or bathroom as long as water is not sprayed directly at them. http://www.jbl.com/loudspeakers/STUDIO2+6ICDT.html?cgid=loudspeakers&dwvar_STUDIO2%206ICDT_color=Black#prefn1=isRefurbished&srule=product-name-ascending&sz=12&start=1&prefv1=false
