Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2.1 Sound bar Sound is very good. Initial setup was difficult do the lack of information on the quick setup guide. I found how to sync up the subwoofer by reading a review on the jbl website. Help line was of little help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound and features Great sound for the size and the price of this soundbar. I chose it over others because it has HDMI in and out which I need for my AppleTV. A slight problem which I have read other soundbars have as well, is that when audio is sent from Apple TV to soundbar, there is a second of silence before the soundbar detects the audio signal. After 1 second the display shows PCM and audio suddenly tuns on, in the middle of whatever sound is currently playing. This results in a jarring audio experience any time you pause for a second and then move the apple TV cursor around to select apps. It would be great if you could set the JBL soundbar to remain in PCM mode at all times intsead of constantly reverting to its un-named default sound transfer codec. I still give it 5 stars because this is a minor enough annoyance and everything else is as good as I could ever ask.

How do you pair the sound bar and sub.

Asked by: Stevebekka
Please follow these steps to pair the subwoofer to the soundbar -First, turn on the soundbar and the subwoofer. If the connection is lost, the LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly.  -Second, press the CONNECT button on the subwoofer to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks quickly.  -Third, press and hold the DIM DISPLAY button on the remote control for 5 seconds, followed by short press on BASS+, and BASS- button in sequence. Panel display will show “PAIRING”.  -If pairing succeeds, the LED indicator on the subwoofer lights up, and the soundbar display will show "DONE”. If pairing fails, the indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly.  -Lastly, if the pairing fails, repeat the steps above for 2 more times and submit a case request at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

I currently own the Bar2.1 and am very satisfied. The system is in a large room and was wondering if you can add another JBL wireless subwoofer and have the soundbar send the wireless sub signals to both subwoofers simultaneously?

Asked by: Sandman
Unfortunately It is not possible at the moment. The only the given subwoofer is dedicated to the soundbar and no other subwoofers can connect to it..

Why doesn’t this system come with a manual? The quick start manual is inadequate to say the least. Where is the complete online manual on your website? It should be here.

Asked by: TLH1984

Unfortunately there are no speakers you can connect to the JBL BAR 2.1 since it's only for a 2.1 surround.

Can I get additional bluetooth speakers that will connect to my JBL 2.1 soundbar? Like 2 desktop speakers that will enhance the surround sound?

Asked by: bruceh
The JBL Bar 2.1 soundbar's Bluetooth functions only as a receiver and not a transmitter. It can only receive signals from an audio source such as a smartphone or a laptop, but it cannot transmit audio to another Bluetooth speaker.
