Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sound quality The speaker has enough punch of bass that can shake the room at levels above 20 and at the same time, the voice clarity while watching English movies is a super specialty. I am in love with these speakers that delivers crisp voice clarity and excellent bass all that is controllable from remote. With surround mode on, the speaker gives room filling surrounding sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features good sound good build quality. I bought the Bar 3.1 about a week ago and I am pretty satisfied with the unit as a whole. And in this price range ($300-$600) I believe it hit most of what I was looking for to replace the horrible sound from my TV speakers. 1- I like the build quality seems very well built. 2-The information display is terrific so you can see all your adjustments while using your remote and not just the idiot lights on most soundbars ,even the high end models. 3- The base adjustment is a great idea from the remote And with the 10 inch woofer sounds really good and has plenty of punch even at mid level (15 out of 30) 5- The overall sound quality from this soundbar is pretty good for such small speakers. 6- The remote has a good amount of adjustments to control the SB. 7- The blue tooth works very well seems easy to connect from my Android and Ipod. 8- Has many inputs 3 HDMI ,fiber optic, etc. My one major complaint is the almost none existence of the voice during some movie scenes, voice gets washed out . Which was one of my main complaints for this product. The presets do have a voice setting but I was informed by JBL tech that in that mode and the other presets you will only get stereo output and the middle speakers would not fire up. I don"t understand this as I would have been more practical and more functional if when you select Voice you would bring out more of the dialog and have those center speakers on. Or at the very least have an EQ so you can adjust the voice and control the middle speakers just as you can adjust the base. I was told that in order to have those middle speakers fire up I would have to turn on the surround mode (See answer to my question in the( Q&A ) section. Therefore none of the presets would do any good to boost the dialog. I also had to connect using the (HDMI ARC) connection to hear the middle speakers . and I still have to strain to hear the voice I would have also liked more mid range from these speakers and a remote with a adjustment for voice. also have a back lighted remote as it is hard to see the different options on the remote. With all that said I still think this is one of the best choices without spending thousands of dollars. And yes I would recommend this unit as a good buy. Especially at the sale price of $400.00

My product won't connect to the wireless subwoofer, how do I go about syncing them together? There is nothing stated in the guides and manuals

Asked by: willrojazz
Sorry for the inconvenience. Please refer to the steps below, for your information as well, moving forward: 1. Turn on the soundbar and the subwoofer. If the connection is lost, the LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. 2. Press the CONNECT button on the subwoofer to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks quickly. 3. Press and hold the DIM DISPLAY button on the remote control for 5 seconds, followed by short press on BASS+, and BASS- button in sequence. Panel display will show “PAIRING”. If pairing succeeds, the LED indicator on the subwoofer lights up, and the soundbar display will show "DONE”. If pairing fails, the indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. Lastly, if the pairing fails, repeat the steps above.

Soundbar keeps turning back On after I use my Harmony Ultimate One to turn it off. I have yet to get it to obey all the proper commands/activities from my remote (it keeps flipping to the wrong input, etc). Any help to get these two to get along?

Asked by: abenglish84
Hi! You could double check if the source/s are set to CEC, and is connected to the JBL Bar 3.1 via HDMI, this could be causing problems. Try turning off any CEC on the devices that are connected to the 3.1, and see if that helps. If the issue still persists, wewould like to work with you directly to help you with your issue. Please submit a case request at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

Can you fix this very big mistake in future update? Automatically turn off the speaker when there is no signal? This is very annoying when you scrolling in game menu or somewhere. Please set it to real 10 min without signal and not to cca 1 ms.

Asked by: Jojin88
I contacted JBL about this since it cuts off the beginning of every song when streaming to my tv with the brief loading causing the soundbar to turn off. They said they are working on a fix as many others have noted this same problem. So hopefully we will see something soon.

Anyone else have volume issues with Fios?  Any button I use on my cable or universal remotes changes the volume based on its last volume input. Never had a problem with COX cable box. Anyone have a fix. Put in tech request a week ago

Asked by: Gsilcox
I am having this exact same issue.  It somehow repeats the last command given to the Bar 3.1 whenever I use the remote for my Fios DVR (Arris VMS1100).  I just got the soundbar yesterday and was happy until I discovered this issue.  If support can't help me, it is definitely a dealbreaker.  Hopefully they helped you out.

I received the sound bar but the subwoofer will not pair to the sound bar. The quick guide sent with it has no info on pairing it. There is a pairing button on the sun but not on the bar, how do I go about connecting the two?

The connect button would be at the top of the plug where the power cord is plugged in.

On the back of the subwoofer, in between the "Subwoofer Pairing" button and "AC In" socket, there is something that says "SW Upgrade" and looks similar to a 3.5 mm port. What is that used for? It is not listed in the manual.

Asked by: PandasAreAwesome
That is the SW upgrade port that is used by our authorized service centers for repairs and firmware updates.
