JBL Bar 3.1 is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superiority soundbar in its class! The sales person at best buy convinced me to buy Definitive Technology - W Studio Micro 3.1 My first choice was Definitive and caught my attention since it offers deep deep black Friday discounts but It has a lot of connectivity and compatibility issues during setup. Not compatible with my cable receiver and 78" Samsung uhd remotes and I was having very hard time connecting with subwoofer because my router also wasn't on the compatible list. I finally gave up on Definitive and ended up returning it and got a JBL 3.1 sound bar and it was perfect! Awesome overall sound and powerful bass! most of all, the setup was very friendly with out the mess. I feel confident that it'll serve me well for the years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome sound! Much better than the competition! It took me the longest time to fish the power cable to the soundbar in my entertainment system. That's not JBL's fault. After getting power to the soundbar....presto! Incredible sound. The wireless bass sound great. I had to actually turn it down a few notches because it throws a lot of air! Excellent system and worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really really nice 2 days ago, I bought a new Samsung sound bar surround system to match my new Samsung 65" curved 4K UHD TV I had bought a couple of months ago but was very disappointed in the power output to say the least and took it back to Best Buy yesterday and traded to this JBL Bar 3.1. Guys, I very rarely buy any electronic device that isn't Samsung, so trust me, it is a BIG deal when I say this system is a huge upgrade from anything Samsung has in the way of a speaker system, of any kind! My JBL new Bar 3.1 system is outstanding. My fiancé is not a fan of big sound so the ability to adjust the bass level during programs is wonderful and perfect for us. It was super easy to set up and synced with ease. The 4K power of this system rocks, the trebles and mid range driver sound is super crisp and the clear voice setting is so important to me with my hearing loss. the power of the 10" woofer driver is awesome and you feel it in your chest. You'll think your house actually blew up watching explosions in an action movie on Disc or a HD stream. I jumped when I popped in "Independence Day" on Blu-ray! I've been around over 50 years to hear them all and I'm 100% satisfied and happy with this bar system and you will be too! It really pays to invest in a company for your audio needs that focuses on nothing buy audio! Thanks JBL for all you do! Love you guys! P.s I'm wondering if the are any wireless surround satellite speakers I can purchase that will sync to the bar 3.1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Blown Away ! I wanted a simple set up for my Game Room and the 70'' LED TV in it . For over a year now I looked at tons of sound bars since I always felt that would be the easiest choice , but I couldn't find anything that sounded great and actually had bass , since the game room is also 25 x 18 . Then after totally giving up I found this , I can't say thank you enough JBL for making a absolutely amazing sound bar system with balls , BIG HUGE BASS BALLS !!!! And the kids and highs are just as amazing sounding !!!!! Don't wait another single moment , if this is what your looking for , get off your butt , and run to the store and buy this system worth every single penny !!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Immense Just got hold of my 3.1 bar and can safely say I'm far from disappointed. This piece of kit rocks thanks to that 10 inch sub! Thank you jbl for creating a soundbar that is just as versatile for streaming music as it is watching movies. In my opinion it would benefit from an eq rather than relying on the presets...however this is easily overcome by simply adjusting these from the source device. On the whole Great work jbl....love it!

My product won't connect to the wireless subwoofer, how do I go about syncing them together? There is nothing stated in the guides and manuals

Asked by: willrojazz
Sorry for the inconvenience. Please refer to the steps below, for your information as well, moving forward: 1. Turn on the soundbar and the subwoofer. If the connection is lost, the LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. 2. Press the CONNECT button on the subwoofer to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks quickly. 3. Press and hold the DIM DISPLAY button on the remote control for 5 seconds, followed by short press on BASS+, and BASS- button in sequence. Panel display will show “PAIRING”. If pairing succeeds, the LED indicator on the subwoofer lights up, and the soundbar display will show "DONE”. If pairing fails, the indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. Lastly, if the pairing fails, repeat the steps above.

I received the sound bar but the subwoofer will not pair to the sound bar. The quick guide sent with it has no info on pairing it. There is a pairing button on the sun but not on the bar, how do I go about connecting the two?

On the back of the subwoofer, in between the "Subwoofer Pairing" button and "AC In" socket, there is something that says "SW Upgrade" and looks similar to a 3.5 mm port. What is that used for? It is not listed in the manual.

Asked by: PandasAreAwesome
That is the SW upgrade port that is used by our authorized service centers for repairs and firmware updates.

Every time I turn on the sound bar, it defaults to the BT input. How do I keep my OPT input active so I don’t have to cycle through the inputs to get my TV audio?

Asked by: Shaney781
The soundbar is powered on whenever a sound signal is received when it's on standby. This is most useful when connecting to the TV using the optical cable, as most HDMI™ ARC connections enable this feature by default. We suggest to turn on your source first for the soundbar to detect the audio signal from the source and then turn on the soundbar.
