Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Soundbar for Movies I bought the JBL Bar 5.1 specially for movies about 2 weeks ago . The 5.1 soundbar is awesome for movies but only acceptable for playing music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sound Was a little nervous about this one since I hadn’t been able to test it prior to purchase but it is awesome. Great bass and surround sound is much better than I had anticipated! my only complaint is that I can’t turn the center channel up a little more for movies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the buck I’ve had this since super bowl weekend and let me just say that the sound is amazingly clear with endless bass to go with it, can’t go wrong for the price....only problem is the arguments with the wife about the tv room rumbling with bass

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome sound!! Just bought today from NFM and set it up. Sounds incredible!! Didn't want to pay $1300 for a Sonos setup!! This was perfect.

Do the dimensions stated for the soundbar include the detachable rear speakers?

Asked by: Johnuk
I got this today. The total length of the bar with surround speakers attached to it is 45 inches. When the surrounds are removed, the bar is shorter than the Bar 3.1 and measures in at about 33.5 inches.

Can the rear speakers be constantly connected to the power outlet rather than being put back to the main soundbar for recharging? I noticed some mini USB sockets in the rear speakers but wanted to double check. Thank you!

Asked by: marioT86
Doesn't look like Danny H is correct. The manual clearly says this about the remote speakers: • As an option, each wireless surround speaker can charge via the USB connector, located on the bottom of the speaker

Hi! The information about the actual length of the soundbar can be found on its product page - it would be 45" or 1148 mm.

Hi, when I paired my soundbar with my TV using ARC, the sound bar automatically turns to mute and cannot be canceled by either TV or soundbar's remote. I can reboot the TV or switch the source of the soundbar to solve the problem. Is it normal?

Hi, I paired my soundbar with my TV using ARC., this way I can also use my tv'S remote controller for the sound bar. WHen I turn off my tv, the soundbar goes on standby mode. Is there a way to to make it turn off completely when turning off tv? Thanks!

Asked by: kikiturc
Stand by is the only option i guess... there is no option turn it off completely (at least based on the manual). Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Does the JBL Bar 5.1 properly pass-thru and/or process Dolby Vision? And just to confirm this bar will NOT pass--thru and/or process Atmos and/or DTS-X. Thank you

Asked by: tyjon31
Correct, The JBL Bar 5.1 Supports HDR/HDR10/Dolby Vision pass-through as the HDMi Ports in the bar are HDCP 2.2 which should be compatible with it. Unfortunately, Dolby Atmos and DTS-x are not supported .

Do you have USB audio input? and how can you connect it to my computer?

Asked by: juangabritorri
The Bar 3.1 owner's manual states USB audio is supported! It is mp3 and wav only (page 9) with instructions on how to use it (page 6). The Bar 5.1 owner's manual is not out at the time of me writing this, but I would hope the upgraded model has at least the same setup. Would have been better with flac support over wav support though. No one is ripping to USB in an uncompressed format when flac gives the same quality for quite a bit less size. It is also open-source so anyone can use it for their products. Not sure why JBL didn't include it as a usable format.

When the rear speakers are attached which speakers on the sound bar are supposed to be in use? Is the center channel to be playing in conjunction with the rest of the speakers?

Asked by: Tony03
always having the rear satellites fixed in foot rests ... does the bar have some kind of side cover to cover the part where the satellites are loaded in the bar? It is a bit lacking in aesthetics, not having the satellites.
