Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasts Loooooooooong I bought mine at Best Buy after returning a bigger speaker from a different brand. This was half the price as the returned product and it sounds just as good. The battery lasts about 4 times longer than that other one as well. I recently played it for a good 4 hours a day, 3 days in a row without charging it. It's that good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speaker - Slight improvements From Flip 4 I had the JBL Flip 4 which was very solid, and then sold it for the Flip 5. This speaker has slightly more bass and a little bit more of a low/mid range than the Flip 4. I compared the two side by side and you could tell the sound was a bit more distinct, the Flip 4 sounding more tin can like. Not a huge difference. I do miss the triple click on the play button to replay the song or skip to previous track. This seems to only have the skip feature with the double press.

Is JBL PartyBoost compatible with JBL Connect+?

Asked by: Jay19
No, it's not ☹️.

why did you do this no mic and also you cant pair my flip4 thanks a lot jbl all you want is more money

Asked by: bob 12
Thanks for your feedback. We've removed the speakerphones since releasing the JBL Charge 4 and the JBL Xtreme 2 so you can enjoy your speakers for listening. Also, the JBL Partyboost is a new and improved version of the Connect+ and is more stable for party playing and due to major hardware changes, is not compatible with the previous Connect/ Connect + features. We believe that our next portable speakers would have the JBL Partyboost feature integrated in it.

How many Smartphones/Tablets can connect wirelessly at the same time? The flip 4 could do 2 devices, does this also support multiple devices? I don't want to have to re-pair each time I switch back and forth from my phone and tablet.

Asked by: P51SN95
Hi there, the JBL Flip 5's Bluetooth connectivity is the same as the JBL Flip 4. It can connect 2 devices at the same time but can only play 1 device at a time. For more information, please submit a case request so we can assist you: https://support.jbl.com/us/en/customer-service/contact.html

Does the flip 5 have a voice assistant and speakerphone like the flip 4?

Asked by: karan46
Hi there, our JBL Flip 5 doesn't have a voice assistant nor a speakerphone like the Flip 4, instead, it has an improved sound quality and a new feature called JBL Partyboost which lets you connect up to 100+ speakers with the JBL Partyboost feature.

Why changed the connect+??? I planned to buy a flip5 but I will not, because not compatible with my xtreme 2.

Asked by: Trell
Thanks for your feedback, Trell. We've made some enhancements with the JBL Flip 5. The Party Boost is an improved version of the JBL Connect+, which improves the Bluetooth reliability of inter-speaker connections.

Asked by: SamGame G
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Partyboost feature uses a different hardware than the Connect/ Connect+ feature. We believe that our next portable speakers would have the JBL Partyboost feature integrated in it.

Does the Flip 5 have speakerphone ability?

Asked by: Conch
NO. When CNET reviewed the Flip 5 in January, there was. Also on websites such as Guitar Center it was advertised as having speakerphone. Those listings have since been taken down. I bought a Flip 5 and just found this out today... Strongly considering returning.
