Product Q&A

Will a 30 watt per channel vacuum tube amplifier push these speakers well? thank you!

Asked by: xnihilo
I have a 125watt amp and still want to feed them more power. They are only 91db so they won't scream at 30 watts they will sound good.

Anyone else purchase the 180’s and are happy with them?

Asked by: Deango
I just did.  No complaints.  Good sale price at Crutchfield. Not sure about the bi-wire thing. JBL should post and article on if it does anything.

Do these JBL A 170s, 180s and A190s have a good clear high end and a good solid Bass punch without the need of a sub-woofer like the old JBLs like I have from the late 80s? Do these 2 8 inch woofers really pack a good and heavy bass punch that is plenty

Asked by: semotec
Our Stage A180 has a Frequency Response of 40Hz – 40kHz and 8” woofers that register deep, signature JBL bass, the JBL Stage captures every note of the audio spectrum from high to low – and combines them into pure listening pleasure.

Are JBL Studio series speakers a good cut above the Stage Series in good quality sound. Better high end with a stronger good quality bass punch?

Asked by: semotec
Our JBL Studio series is the cream of the crop of JBL Home audio speakers. They are the best sounding speakers among the others.

Where does the stage series fall in the JBL line? Does it replace the studio line? Is it higher than the ES line?

Asked by: Samfb
The STAGE A180 is the direct replacement for the ARENA 180, which is being phased out. While the specs are the same and it is a direct replacement, the new STAGE series has undergone a few changes and is made better than the ARENA series.

Hi. Are the legs on the stage 190 able to come off?  Just wondering if I have an option to lay the speakers on their sides on the top of my entertainment center

Asked by: Chris mh
The legs can be removed. However, floor-standing speakers are meant to be used vertically as the direction of the tweeters should be near the ear level of the listener to have the best clarity and balance.
